Thesis Title: Design Method for Safe Ship Structures

About

I am a Naval Architect, living in Croatia, where I ran an R&D company. I obtained my doctorate degree from Aalto University of Finland with the thesis on 'Design method for safe ship structures'.

My scientific interests are:

Decision making theories,
Theories on engineering design,
Optimization, especially Genetic Algorithms,
Ship collisions and groundings,
Steel sandwich panels.

Besides the thesis, I am (was) involved in multiple research projects, funded both by EU and Finnish TEKES. Some of the projects I take (took) care of are ULYSSES, CO-PATCH, SAFE-WIN, IMPROVE, SAND.CORe, SANDWICH, MARSTRUCT, TÖRMÄKE, CONSTRUCT.

I am a member of ISSC (Int. Ship and Off-shore Structures Congress), contributing to the Committee IV.1 'Design Principles and Criteria' as a representative of Croatia.
